Choosing the right image tool

Choose Image Resizer when a picture already looks right but needs different dimensions, such as a smaller illustration for a webpage or an image that must fit a particular space. It keeps the task focused on size rather than changing what the picture communicates.

Choose Image Editor when the content itself needs attention: crop away a distracting edge, mark an important detail, add a note or draw directly on the image. For a picture that needs both kinds of work, settle the composition first, then adjust its final dimensions.

Working with images in your browser

Browser-based tools are useful for occasional image work without installing a separate editing application. Both tools here process the images you open locally in your browser; the image files are not uploaded to our server.

They suit focused tasks such as preparing an illustration or explaining something with a marked-up screenshot. Keep your original file and save a separate result so you can revisit the image later without losing your starting point.
